Cardiac Diagnostic & Interventional Catheterization Lab
The state-of-the-art Diagnostic Catheterization Lab at St. Mary-Corwin offers southern Colorado the advantage of receiving outstanding cardiac care. Highly trained cardiologists perform invasive procedures to evaluate the structure and functioning of your heart. Patients who undergo these procedures may have been suffering from chest pains, heart murmurs and other cardiac abnormalities. Advances in medical technology make it possible to now treat these and other cardiovascular problems.
During a cardiac catheterization procedure, catheters are inserted into the coronary arteries and chambers of the heart. This allows your doctor to take pictures of the coronary arteries and do tests inside the heart. Based on the results, your doctor may advise procedures to correct your heart problem.
