• About Us

  • Sleep Disorders ClinicIf you can’t sleep, you can’t dream.

The National Institute of Health estimates that at least 70 million people in the United States regularly have difficulty sleeping. For as many as 40 million, it's a chronic problem - one that can impact personal safety, productivity and quality of life. What happens in your sleep may have a big impact on common health problems such as coronary artery disease, diabetes, hypertension, memory issues and mood.

Fortunately, most sleep disorders including sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome and others, can be treated, or symptoms reduced significantly, with an accurate diagnosis. The St. Mary-Corwin Sleep Disorders Center meets the guidelines set forth by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and is accredited by The Joint Commission. Personalized care is provided by specifically trained registered sleep technologists and credentialed sleep technicians.

The Sleep Disorders Center at St. Mary-Corwin provides:

    • One-on-one patient orientation to the sleep study process
    • CMS approved home diagnostic units for patients who meet criteria
    • Emergent appointment availability and on-call staff 24 hours a day
    • Certified respiratory therapists and board registered polysomnographic technologists (RPSGT)
    • Appointments are available immediately with results in five business days

    Comfortable Setting

The Sleep Disorders Center provides a comfortable, hotel-like private room setting for the sleep study. We'd like you to bring the comforts from home including your favorite pillow and comfortable sleepwear. Each room has a television for your relaxation. What's more, our staff will treat you with kindness and compassion... every step of the way. Your comfort is important to us.

    Multidisciplinary Care

Our sleep center combines the expertise of a number of clinical specialists with each person's unique health conditions in mind. For example, a gastroenterologist may be consulted when the diagnosis of reflux disease is intertwined with sleep patterns.

    Education and Support

The Sleep Disorders Center at St. Mary-Corwin offers individual appointments with a trained sleep educator or sleep technologist to answer your questions or discuss your overall health and your quality of sleep. People with sleep apnea are invited to participate in AWAKE, a national sleep disorders support group.
