We believe that each child is unique with an individual personality, background, family, developmental level, disease process and reaction to hospitalization. We are committed to providing family-centered, comprehensive care.
Safety is a priority when caring for the children of southern Colorado. We provide a safe environment where children can continue their physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and social development. For this reason, the pediatric unit is a protected area that will require patients and visitors to request access upon entering and exiting. Our friendly, dedicated staff is committed to 24-hour expert care that makes your child's hospital stay the best it can possibly be.
The pediatric unit offers a range of services for the benefit of both the patient and their families. The services offered include:
Pediatrics is located on the 3500 wing of the West tower. Again, this unit is a protected area that will require patients and visitors to request access upon entering and exiting. You can feel comfortable knowing that you and your child are safe and secure, while your privacy is ensured.
There is a capacity forÂ five patients.Â Â Each roomÂ featuresÂ privateÂ shower facilities and accommodations for one parent or guardian in-room overnight stay.Â Â Upon request, a complimentary parent meal will be delivered to your child's room once daily.
The pediatrics unit allows patients the opportunity to enjoy movies, video games,Â mobile fun center,Â mobile Wii station,Â DVD game cube, books, puzzles and other fun activities - in the privacy of their own room.
Our certified, experienced registered nurses staff the pediatrics unit.Â All staff members are Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified, and continuing education for all areas of competency is ongoing.
St. Mary-Corwin has board-certified pediatricians standing by to care for your child. Known as pediatric hospitalists, they are responsible for treating children in the hospital setting, including the emergency department and the newborn nursery.
The Pediatrics unit has been nationally recognized for their high patient satisfaction. This is due to the loving, caring relationships that are built between your child and our dedicated staff. We focus our attention on your child's health, and getting them back to 'being a kid' again.
