Donna Fisher

Donna Fisher, RN, BSN, MS was named Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Vice President of  Patient Care Services in August of 2011. 

Prior to accepting the position of CNO, Donna served as the Administrative Director of Clinical Services at St. Mary-Corwin.  In addition she is a member of the Centura Critical Care Clinical Effectiveness Group, Co-Chair of the Centura Patient Safety Clinical Effectiveness Group and a member of the Centura Patient Safety Quality Council. She has been instrumental in developing the hospital’s strategic initiatives for cardiology services, and achieved national certification for the Cardiac Rehabilitation department.

Donna has been a member of the St. Mary-Corwin team for the past 11 years.  Prior to her Administrative Director role, Donna served as the Interim Assistant to the CNO at St. Thomas More Hospital where she was responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating hospital nursing services. She participated in the recruitment and hiring of the Emergency Services Director, Medical/Surgical Director and Vice President of Patient Care Services, and implemented the Patient Care Leadership committee to address quality and patient safety issues.

Her other experience at St. Mary-Corwin has centered around critical care areas as Director of Nursing, ICU/NISO Clinical Manager, and ICU Unit Leader.  She has been instrumental in the implementation of Meditech, maintaining Joint Commission Stroke Certification, unit management, education and staff development.
Donna also worked as the Director of Utilization Management for Phycor Management, as a Paralegal Intern with Julia Roten, RN, JD, and with the Trinity Mother Frances Health System as Provider Relations Manager, CV Charge Nurse/Staff Nurse and Cardiovascular ICU Manager.

Donna received her Master of Science in Leadership from Amberton University in Frisco, TX, her Paralegal Certificate from Denver Paralegal Institute, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler, TX and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Angelina Junior College in Lufkin, TX. Her certifications include Colorado Registered Nurse, Certified Paralegal and Fundamental Critical Care Support Instructor.  She has been involved in number community events and is currently the Vice President of the Board of the YWCA.
